Bismillāh ar-Rahmān ar-Rahīm


SIGNIFICANT WORDS AND PHRASES IN

SŪRAH AL-FATH, SŪRAH AL-HUJURĀT,

AND SŪRAH QĀF

 

 

  1. 1.  ISLĀM, ĪMĀN AND IHSĀN

    a. Islām

    Sirātan Mustaqīmā, Straight Path, Verse number (48:2)

    Makkah, Makkah, (48:24)

    al-Masjidil-Harām, the Sacred Masjid (in Makkah), (48:25)

    Huwalladhī Arsala Rasūlahū bil-Hudā wa Dīnil-Haqqi liyuzhirahū ‘alad-dīni kullih, He (Allah) is the One Who has sent His (Prophetic) Messenger (Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) with Guidance and the Religion of Truth that He (Allah) may make it to prevail over all other religions, (48:28)

    Dīnil-Haqq, the Religion of Truth (Islām), (48:28)

    dīn, religion, (49:16)

    Islām, Islām, (49:17)

    b. Īmān

    Īmān, Faith, Belief, (48:4), (49:7)

    li tu’minū Billāhi wa Rasūlihī, so that you (mankind) may believe in Allah and His (Prophetic) Messenger (Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam), (48:9)

    al-mu’minīn, the faithful Muslim believers, (48:4), (49:9)

    al-mu’minūn, the faithful Muslim believers, (48:12), (49:10)

    al-mu’mināt, the faithful believing women in Islām, (48:5)

    alladhīna āmanū, those who believe, (48:29), (49:1)

    innamal-mu’minūn alladhīna āmanū Billāhi wa Rasūlihi thumma lam yartābū wa jāhadū bi amwālihim wa anfusihim fī Sabīlillāh, the believers are only those who have believed in Allah and His (Prophetic) Messenger (Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) and afterwards have not doubted, but have struggled with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah, (49:15)

    c. Ihsān

    sīmāhum fī wujūhihim min atharis-sujūd, their mark is on their faces (foreheads) from the traces of prostrations (in Salāh), (48:29)

    inna akramakum ‘indAllahi atqākum, surely, the noblest of you with Allah is the one among you who is most pious, (49:13)

    man khashiyar-Rahmān(a) bil-ghayb, who was in awe of the Beneficent (Allah) without seeing Him, (50:33)
