Bismillāh ar-Rahmān ar-Rahīm
5. DHIKR, DU‘Ā’ AND BENEDICTIONS
a. Dhikr (Remembrance) of Allāh and Du‘ā’ (Supplication) to Allāh
Lā ilāha Illallāh, There is no god but Allāh, Hadīth number 2
Yā Rabb, O Lord, 10
Al-Hamdu Lillāh, all Praise is for Allāh, 23
Subhānallāh wal-Hamdu Lillāh, Glorified is Allāh and all Praise is for Allāh, 23
Tahlīlah (or Tahlīl), to say lā ilāha Illallāh (There is no god but Allāh), 25
Tasbīhah (or Tasbīh), to say Subhānallāh (Glorified is Allāh), 25
Tahmīdah (or Tahmīd), to say Al-Hamdu Lillāh (all Praise is for Allāh), 25
Takbīrah (or Takbīr), to say Allāhu Akbar (Allāh is Supremely Great), 25
b. Benedictions
Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, may Allāh’s Blessings and Peace be upon him, this is recited after the name of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, 1
rady Allāhu ‘anhu, may Allāh be pleased with him, recited after the name of a Companion of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, 1
rady Allāhu ‘anhā, may Allāh be pleased with her, 5
rady Allāhu ‘anhumā, may Allāh be pleased with them both, 3
