Explanations:
- Only the first Hadīth number is given where the word or phrase occurs. The only exceptions are the Name of Allāh, Rasūl Allāh, an-Nabī, Names of Sahāba who narrated these 40 Hadīth, Names of Muhaddithīn, and Names of Books of Hadīth, where all the Hadīth numbers are given where these occur.
- The words and phrases are given in the sequence in which they occur in the 40 Hadīth.
Ash-Shukr, Du‘ā’ and Salāt ‘alan-Nabī, Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam:
We are thankful to Allāh, Subhānahū wa Ta‘ālā, Lord of all the worlds, for granting us the ability to accomplish this task through His Grace and Mercy. We are also thankful to our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad, Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, for showering us with such an immense treasury of Ahādīth from which we may learn and benefit, Inshā’ Allāh.
We are grateful to our parents for their guidance, encouragement, and Du‘ā’.
Du‘ā’: O Allāh! Grant us the ability to follow the Sunnah of our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad, Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, and grant us the ability to act upon his beautiful Hadīth.
Allāhumma salli ‘alā Sayyidinā Muhammadin wa ‘alā ālihī wa sahbihī wa sallim
O Allah! Bestow blessings and peace upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, and on his Family and Companions.
