THE CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF
OUR BELOVED HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ص)
 

at MASJID UTHMAN GHAWTHI
75 Kirkdene Road, Scarborough

InshaAllah, on THURSDAY 24 Rabi‘ an-Nabi 1428 / 12 April 2007
from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. (‘Asr to ‘Isha)

The recitation of the Mawlid and qasidas will be in Arabic as recited in Yemen and in Lamu, East Africa

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Salat al-‘Asr
  • Recitation of Surah al-Fatiha (The Opening Supplication to Allah)
  • Recitation of Surah YaaSeen
  • Recitation of Simtu ud-Durar, a Biography of Prophet Muhammad (ص) composed by Imam ‘Ali bin Muhammad al-Habshi (ر)
  • Salat al-Maghrib
  • Recitation of madih (eulogies) and qasaid (religious poetry) on Prophet Muhammad (ص) . These eulogies have been composed by:

    Shaykh ‘Aydarus al-Adani (ر)
    Shaykh Abi Bakr bin Salim (ر)

    Imam ‘Abdallah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad (ر)

    Imam ‘Ali bin Muhammad al-Habshi  (ر)

  • Salaams on Prophet Muhammad (ص) in standing ovation to him
  • Recitation of a Dars of al-Habib Ahmad Mash-hur bin Taha al-Haddad (ر) on the birth ofProphet Muhammad (ص)    
  • Du‘a (Supplication to Allah)
  • Salat al-‘Isha
  • Tabarruk/nyaz (Refreshments)

This majlis of Mawlid an-Nabi (ص) is similar to the ones which will be held simultaneously, InshaAllah in Tarim and Seyun (in Yemen); in Lamu, Mambrui and Mombasa (Kenya), and in Solo (Indonesia).

 

DIRECTIONS TO THE MASJID

Take 401 East, Exit Port Union Road

At the exit traffic light, make left on
            Kingston Road

At 2nd traffic light, make right on
            Port Union Road

At 1st traffic light, make left on
            Island Road

At 1st stop sign, make right on
            East Avenue

At 2nd street, make right on
            Kirkdene Road

The first building on the left
