Chapter 10
The Importance of Education in Islam
1. Hadrat Anas bin Malik (ر ) relates that the Holy Prophet (ص ) said: A person who goes out in search of knowledge is in Allah’s way (that is, in His cause) till he returns. (Tirmidhi)
2. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (ر ) relates that the Holy Prophet (ص ) said: “After the death of a person all his deeds end except three: first, continuous charity; second, knowledge which benefits; and third, a virtuous child who prays for him”. (Muslim)
(An example of continuous charity is digging a well for public use).
