HADITH: SAYINGS OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD

Chapter 12
Good Behaviour
1. Hadrat Abu Darda’ (ر ) relates that the Holy Prophet (ص ) said: “Nothing is weightier in the scales of a believer on the Day of Judgement than his good behaviour. Allah detests a person who is obscene and shameless”. (Tirmidhi)
2. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (ر ) relates that a man requested the Holy Prophet (ص ): “Advise me”. The Holy Prophet (ص ) said: “Do not be overpowered by anger”. The man repeated his request several times. Every time, he advised him: “Do not be overpowered by anger”. (Bukhari)
3. Hadrat Abu Dharr (ر ) relates that the Holy Prophet (ص ) told him, “Do not consider the smallest good deed as insignificant; even meeting your brother with a cheerful face” (is a good deed). (Muslim)
4. Hadrat Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas (ر ) relates: “I heard Allah’s Messenger (ص ) say, “Surely, Allah loves a person who is pious, rich and hospitable”. (Muslim)
5. Hadrat Iyadh bin Himar (ر ) relates that Allah’s Messenger (ص ) said, “Allah has revealed to me that you should show courtesy and be cordial with each other, so that nobody should consider himself superior to another nor harm him”. (Muslim)
6. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (ر ) relates that Allah’s Messenger (ص ) said: “When any one of you is invited for a meal, he should accept the invitation. If he is fasting he should pray for the host, and if he is not fasting, he should eat”. (Muslim)
7. Hadrat Nawwas ibn Sam‘an (ر ) relates that the Holy Prophet (ص ) said, “Virtue is good conduct, and sin is that which pinches your mind and you do not like that people should come to know of it”. (Muslim)
