Chapter 16
Mercy and Kindness in Islam
1. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (ر ) related that Allah’s Prophetic Messenger (ص ) said, ‘When Allah made the creation, He wrote in the Book which is with Him on His Throne, “My mercy shall prevail over my wrath”. (Bukhari and Muslim)
2. Hadrat Jarir ibn ‘Abdullah (ر ) related that Allah’s Prophetic Messenger (ص ) said, “Anyone who has no mercy for others will receive no mercy from Allah”. (Bukhari and Muslim)
3. Sayyidatina ‘Aisha (ر ) related that the Holy Prophet (ص ) said, “Allah is Most Kind and loves kindness, and bestows upon kindness that which He does not bestow upon harshness, nor does He bestow on anything else other that kindness”. (Muslim)
4. Hadrat ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (ر ) said that Allah’s Prophetic Messenger (ص ) said to Ashajj ‘Abd al-Qays(ر ), “You have two qualities which Allah loves: mildness and toleration”. (Muslim)
