Chapter 19
Rights of Neighbours
1. Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (ر ) and Sayyidatina Aisha (ر ) relate that Allah’s Messenger (ص ) said: “Angel Jibril kept exhorting me about (the rights of) the neighbour, so much so that I thought that the neighbour might be included as one of the heirs”. (Bukhari and Muslim)2. Mother of believers, Sayyidatina Aisha (ر ) relates that she said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! I have two neighbours. To whom shall I send a present?’ He replied, “To the one whose door is nearer to yours”. (Bukhari)
3. Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (ر ) relates that Allah’s Messenger (ص ) said: “O Muslim women, do not consider anything you send to your neighbour to be insignificant (however small it may be), even it is goat’s trotters”. (Bukhari and Muslim)
