SAYYIDATINA FATIMA
Rady Allahu Anha (may Allah be pleased with her)

  • Sayyidatina Fatima (Rady Allahu Anha) is the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) and Sayyidatina Khadijah (Rady Allahu Anha).
  • She is the fourth and youngest daughter of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam).

 

  • The Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) said “Fatima is the leader of the women in Paradise”.
  • She has many blessed names, which can be found in various books and religious poems.

 

  • Some of the blessed titles that Sayyidatina Fatima (Rady Allahu Anha) has are:
    • Az-Zahra, which means the Brillantly Shining,
    • Al-Batul, the Pure,
    • Sayyidah, Leader,
    • Ma‘sumah, Sinless,
    • ‘Abida, Worshipper of Allah,
    • Waliyya, Saint,
    • Zakiyya, Pure.
  • She was married to Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) when she was eighteen years old.

 

  • Their two famous sons are Sayyidina Imam Al-Hasan (Rady Allahu Anhu) and Sayyidina Imam Al-Husain (Rady Allahu Anhu).
  • Sayyidina Ali (Rady Allahu Anhu) and Sayyidatina Fatima (Rady Allahu Anha) also had two daughters, Sayyida Zaynab (Rady Allahu Anha) and Sayyida Umm Kulthum (Rady Allahu Anha).

 

  • She is one of the “Five Pure Souls”, purified by Allah.
  • She was a pious and charitable lady.

 

  • She would give food to those in need, even if she had to stay hungry herself.
  • She had fine manners and gentle speech.

 

  • She lived a life of suffering and hardship.
  • The Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) said that whoever pleased her, has also pleased Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala), and whoever angered her, has also angered Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala). 

 

  • Sayyidatina Fatima (Rady Allahu Anha) received wisdom from her father, the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam).
  • She took care of her father (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) after her mother, Sayyidatina Khadijah (Rady Allahu Anha) passed away.

 

  • The Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) respected her a lot. He would stand up to greet her when she entered the house.
  • Once, the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) whispered in her ear that he will soon pass away, and she started to weep. Then he told her that she will be the first one to follow him, and she smiled.

 

  • She was the first person in the Family of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam) to pass away after him.
  • She passed away on 3rd Ramadan in Madina.

 

  • Her final resting place is in Jannatul Baqi.
