URDU QASIDA
ON THE BIRTH OF OUR BELOVED PROPHET MUHAMMAD

Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam

(First the transliteration is given followed by the translation)

Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Amina Bibi kay gulshan may aai hay taazaa bahaar
Partay hain Sallallahu wa Sallam aaj dharo dheewaar

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Baara Rabi ul Awwal ko wo aaya dhurray yateem
Mahe Nubuwwat Mohre Risaalat Sahibe Khalqe Azeem

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Aaya waali dho jug ka aur Allah kaa maqbul
Shafi‘ay Mahshar Saaqiye Kawthar pyara Muhammad Rasul

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Haamido Mahmood aur Muhammad dho jug kaa sardaar
Jaan say pyara Raaj Dhulara Rahmat ki Sarkaar

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Yaasino Taahaa Kamlee Waalaa Qur’an ki Tafseer
Haaziro Naazir Shaahido Qaasim aaya Siraajun Muneer

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Awwalo Aakhir sab kutch jaanay dhekhe ba‘eedo qareeb
Ghaib ki khabrein dhaynay waala Allah ka wo Habib

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

Jibril aae jhula jhulanay lori dhay zeeshaan
Sojaa sojaa Rahmatay ‘aalam dho jug kay Sultaan

Nabi Jee Allah Allah Allahu laa ilaaha illaa Hu

TRANSLATION

Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

Bibi Amina’s garden is in a new blossoming spring
Today everything is reciting:
            Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam
may Allah bless him and grant him peace

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

On twelfth Rabi‘ Awwal arrived he as an orphan
The bright moon of Prophecy and the seal of Prophethood
            possessor of the best moral character

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

He came as the guardian of both the worlds, Allah’s chosen one
Intercessor on the Day of Judgement, distributor of water from Kawthar
            the beloved Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

The one who praises Allah, is himself praised and indeed most highly praised
            the leader of both the worlds
More beloved than life itself, the beloved one who rules with mercy

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

Yaaseen and Taahaa, the one with the mantle, living example of the Qur’an
Present and witnessing, a witness (on the Day of Judgement)
            Distributor of what Allah gives, he came as a shining lamp of Prophethood

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

His prophetic insight covers everything,
            the phenomenal and the eternal, the far and the near
The mysteries of the unseen are given to him to disclose
            such is the Beloved of Allah

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He

Jibril came to swing his cradle and chant him a glorious lullaby
Rest a little O mercy for the worlds, Sultan of both the worlds.

O beloved Prophet (my zikr is): Allah Allah, none is worthy of worship except He
