In the name of Allah The Beneficient The Merciful

VERSES OF THE HOLY QUR'AN
THAT BEGIN AS WELL AS END WITH THE NAME OF ALLAH
(The Glorified and The Exalted)

Now that we have studied Verses of the Holy Qur’an that Begin with The Name of Allah, and Verses that End with the Name of Allah, we can identify 21 verses that both begin and end with the Name of Allah. What a joy it is to recite these verses. And what a joy it is to hear someone recite these verses in a melodious voice. Let us obtain the benefit of going through their translation here.

And to Allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. Surely, Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing. (2:115)

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and whether you disclose whatever is in your own selves or hide it, Allah will call you to account for it; then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allah is All-Powerful over all things. (2:284)

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (3:129)

And to Allah belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Powerful over all things. (3:189)

And Allah knows well your enemies, and Allah is Sufficient as Protector and Allah is Sufficient as Helper. (4:45)

Surely, Allah commands you to render back the trusts to their owners, and that when you judge between people, you judge with justice. Surely, how excellent is the admonition which Allah gives you. Surely, Allah is All-Hearing, All- Seeing. (4:58)

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and Allah Encompasses all things. (4:126)

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And certainly, We have enjoined on those who were given the Scripture before you and on you too (O Muslims) that you should remain in reverential awe of Allah. But if you disbelieve, then surely to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And Allah is All-Sufficient (free of want, above need), All-Praised. (4:131)

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and Sufficient is Allah as Ultimate Trustee. (4:132)

And Allah has created you, then He will cause you to die, and some of you are brought back towards the worst part of life (senility), so that you know nothing after having knowledge. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful. (16:70)

And to Allah belongs the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour (that will establish the Day of Judgement), is not but as the twinkling of the eye or even nearer. Surely, Allah is All-Powerful over all things. (16:77)

Allah chooses Messengers from among the angels and from among the men. Surely, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (22:75)

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass, the glass is as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, which is neither of the east nor of the west; whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills, and Allah sets forth parables for the people; and Allah is All-Knowing about all things. (24:35)

And Allah created every animal from water, so of them is one that goes on its belly, and of them is one that walks on two legs, and of them is one that walks on four. Allah creates what He wills. Surely, Allah is All-Powerful over all things. (24:45)

Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts it for whom He wills. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing about all things. (29:62)

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Surely, Allah – He is The All-Sufficient, The All-Praised. (31:26)

Surely, with Allah is the knowledge of the Hour (that will establish the Day of Judgement), and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs, and no person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (31:34)

And Allah judges with truth. But those whom they call upon apart from Him cannot judge anything. Surely, Allah – He is The All-Hearing, The All-Seeing. (40:20)

Allah is He Who made the earth for you as a resting place, and the heaven as a canopy, and shaped you, then made your shapes good (looking) and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord. Blessed be Allah, Lord of the worlds. (40:64)

And to Allah belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Mighty, Wise. (48:7)

And to Allah belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (48:14)

Appreciative Explanation

We find that the main emphasis in these 21 verses is on the teachings of Arkan al-Iman (Pillars of Muslim Belief). These are:

1.Belief in Allah. (all the verses)
2.Belief in the Angels. (22:75)
3.Belief in the Books (Scriptures). (4:131)
4.Belief in the Messengers of Allah. (22:75)
5.Belief in the Day of Judgement.(2:284) (16:77) (31:34)
6.Belief in Divine Destiny and Pre-ordainment, and the raising up on the Day of Judgement. (2:284) (16:70) (29:62) (31:34) (48:14)
