5. Allah is The Lord of the worlds
Finally we come to verses that end with The Name of Allah together with some other Sifāt (Attributes) of Allah. These other Attributes that occur in the greatest number of such verses are:
Qadīr or Qadīr(ā) (All-Powerful) (occurs in 26 verses)
Rabb-il-‘Ālamīn, Rabb-ul-‘Ālamīn, or Rabb-al-‘Ālamīn (The Lord of the worlds)
(15 verses)Shadīd (Severe) (12 verses)
Sarī‘ (Swift) (7 verses)
Dhu’l Fadl or Dhū Fadl (Possessor of Great Bounty) (7 verses)
Other Attributes of Allah in similar combinations occur in less than 7 verses.
Of the 26 verses which end with The Name of Allah and His Attribute of Qadīr or Qadīr(ā) (All-Powerful), the greatest number of verses end with:
‘alā kulli shay-in Qadīr (is All-Powerful to do all things).
One of these verses begins with Al-Hamdu Lillāh (All Praise is for Allah). Its translation is:
All Praise is for Allah, The Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Appointer of the angels as Messengers who have two, and three, and four wings. He increases in creation what He pleases. Surely, Allah is All-Powerful to do all things. (35:1)
Allah is also Rabb-ul-‘Ālamīn (The Lord of the worlds). This Attribute of Allah comes in the very first verse of Sūrah al-Fātiha, which is the greatest du‘ā’ (supplication to Allah) that is recited in every Salāh (Prayer) and at every religious occasion. It is:
Al-Hamdu Lillāhi Rabb-il-‘Ālamīn
All Praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (1:1)And in the Holy Qur’ān, Allah (The Glorified and The Exalted) told Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) to make the following supplication:
Qul inna salātī wa nusukī wa mahyāya wa mamātī Lillāhi Rabb-il-‘Ālamīn
Say (O Beloved Prophet)! Indeed, my Prayer, and my sacrifice, and my living and my dying are all for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (6:162)
