And he (the Shaykh) said, may Allah be pleased with him.
Ihya ‘Ulum i’d-Deen (The Revival of Religious Sciences) is both about good character and the virtues. You see many people buy other books about good manners but they do not contain even a quarter of what is in Ihya ‘Ulum i’d-Deen. And with that, the Ihya is both about good manners and the virtues. So, it is a combination of spiritual mysteries. One who recites it and acts according to it, becomes someone from the people of spiritual secrets. So the one who does not know it, buys it, has it, and recites from it. Our pious predecessors used to recite a chapter from the Ihya every day. And all this is necessary for acceptance. If you wish to live, then become attached to what is in the Ihya (or, as he, the Shaykh, said).
