A Compendium of the talks of:

Rahmatullāhi ‘alayh
My master said, may Allah be pleased with him.
When a person dies, his body perishes and his soul remains with perfect hearing, seeing, speaking, flying (power and), strong. The power of the body is from the power of the soul. If there is no soul, the body would not get power and it cannot move.
The soul in itself is by the Command of Allah and by the Power of Allah.
And they ask you about the soul. Say (O Beloved Prophet!): the soul is by the Command of my Lord. (17:85)
What is the meaning of: by the Command of my Lord? It is not from a Command that was given on a “Day of Command”. (Rather) it means that it is by the Power from the “World of Command” as the World of Command is the World of Power: (Allah says) “Be” and it becomes. So the soul is from the World of Command. And if it comes out from the body, it is set free to go to many places, just as the soul remains in the Intermediate realm (the grave).
And the earth does not eat some of the bodies, like the bodies of the Prophets, blessing and peace be upon them, as indeed they are alive in their graves, and similarly the martyrs who are killed in the Way of Allah. Allah says (in the Holy Qur’an):
And do not reckon that those who have been slain in Allah’s Way are dead, but they are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance. (3:169)
And many graves have been searched and dug up and (sometimes) in it has been found a body with its fresh shroud, or as my master said (in his own words).
