DARS 52: STRIVE TO ACHIEVE EVERLASTING BLISS
And he said, may Allah be pleased with him.
Allah, the Glorified and the Exalted, created man in this world which is a place of trial and a place of confusion.
Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Kingdom and He has Power over everything. He Who created death and life that He may test which of you is best in action, and He is the All-Mighty, the Forgiving. (67:1-2)
Allah has created you on the best deed. Everyone who struggles with his lowly self, everyone who makes himself lowly, succeeds. And the opposite of that, may Allah protect us from that! This place is a place of exertion, not a place of a low level of morality. Perhaps you will exert, and labour, and be saved.
As someone said (in a poem):
I am tested with four which have not been created
except to intensify my misery and my hardshipIblis and this world and my lowly (sinful) self and passion
how is the salvation while all of them are my enemiesA person's lowly sinful self does not leave him, and he follows his passion. Whatever someone does, behind him is shaytan to lead him astray. And Iblis and this world make him transgress. And passion ruins him. This place is a place of trial and examination. As for the place of ease and bliss, it is the Abode of Peace, Paradise. May Allah make us from its people, Ameen.
