DARS 58: AL-HABIB ‘UMAR IBN ‘ABD-AR-RAHMAN AL-‘ATTAS IS THE SHAYKH OF AL-HABIB ‘ABDALLAH IBN ‘ALAWI AL-HADDAD (Rady Allahu ‘Anhuma)
He was asked, may Allah spread his benefit, on 23 Ramadan 1407 A.H whether al-Habib ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd-ar-Rahman al-‘Attas (may Allah be pleased with him) authored any books. So he answered, may Allah be pleased with him.
He did not author any books but he produced “men of Allah”. Some scholars author books and some of them produce “men of Allah”.
It has been said that Calling to Allah is done in three ways; by word of mouth, and by the pen and on foot. So the man who does it by word of mouth reminds and teaches, and by the pen when he writes and authors, and on foot when he travels and moves from place to place to call to Allah and benefit mankind. And all these attributes were combined in al-Habib ‘Abdallah al-Haddad, may Allah be pleased with him.
