DARS 6: THE HIGH POSITION OF THE SUFIS
In the words of my master, my grandfather, may Allah make people benefit from him, who explained what Allah, The Exalted said (in the Qur’an).
And on the most elevated places, there will be (some) men who will recognize everyone by their marks (on their foreheads). (7:46)
My grandfather, may Allah be pleased with him, explained:
Commentators on the meanings of the verses of the Qur’an differ (on the meaning of this verse). There are those that said: Al-A‘rāf (the Heights, the most elevated places) are a stage between heaven and hell. And there are those that said: (the men on the Heights are) the martyrs. And others said: (the men on the Heights are) men about whom judgment has been kept pending, that is, they have not yet been ordered to enter heaven, nor have they been ordered to enter hell. And yet others said: these are the people who have been saved (from hell) but the Lord wishes them to see how He will deal with His servants. And the Sufis say: these are indeed the great Sufi saints. My Lord will show them different situations of the people at the halting place.
Who will recognize everyone by their marks (on their foreheads) (7:46)
That is, (they will recognize) the people who will go to hell and the people who will go to Paradise.
